A routine adapted to your hair
There is no universal capillary routine — the right routine depends on your hair type (dry, oily, fine, thick, curly, straight) and your scalp. But some rules apply to everyone.
The 5 pillars of a good routine
1. Wash at the right frequency
Daily washing is generally not necessary and can dry out the scalp. 2-3 times a week is ideal for most, with a mild, sulfate-free shampoo.
2. Nourish and hydrate
Use a conditioner or mask adapted to your hair type once or twice a week. Vegetable oils (argan, coconut, castor) are natural allies.
3. Protect from heat
Hair dryer, straightener, curling iron damage the cuticle. Always apply a thermal protector before any heating device, and favor air drying when possible.
4. Brush gently
Brush dry hair with a wide-tooth comb or soft brush. Avoid brushing wet hair, which is more fragile.
5. Eat a balanced diet
Proteins, iron, zinc, biotin, omega-3, vitamin D. Your hair is a reflection of your nutrition.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Rubbing hair hard with a towel (use dabbing)
- Tying wet hair tight
- Abusing dry shampoos (clogs the scalp)
- Skipping the dermatologist when loss intensifies
And if hair loss becomes concerning?
A good routine delays and alleviates — but doesn't cure androgenetic alopecia. If loss persists, consult a specialist to evaluate suitable treatments (PRP, Minoxidil, FUE transplant).
