Two variations of the same technique
Both manual FUE and DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) extract follicles one by one from the donor area. The difference lies in the implantation phase: manual FUE uses pre-made micro-incisions, while DHI uses a Choi implanter pen that creates the incision and implants the graft in a single motion.
Manual FUE: precision and control
The surgeon designs the frontal line, creates micro-incisions with precise angles and directions, then the team places each graft manually. Advantages: absolute control over angle and depth, ideal for a natural hairline and large surfaces. It is the gold standard at Phoenix Hair Paris.
DHI: direct implantation
The Choi pen allows implantation without prior incision. Advantages: potentially higher density in small targeted areas, and no shaving of the recipient area needed. Ideal for women, crown densification or small touch-ups.
Which to choose?
The Phoenix Hair hybrid approach
Rather than choosing dogmatically between the two, we combine both in the same session depending on the target zone: manual FUE for the hairline and large surfaces, DHI for localized densification. It's the best of both worlds.
