Preparation starts 1 month before
The success of a hair transplant depends not only on the surgeon's skill, but also on your preparation. Follow these recommendations carefully to maximize graft survival and regrowth quality.
30 days before
- Stop smoking: tobacco constricts blood vessels and compromises graft oxygenation
- Reduce alcohol consumption
- Avoid anticoagulants (aspirin, ibuprofen) if not medically necessary
- Start a diet rich in protein, iron and vitamins
15 days before
- Stop any herbal supplements (ginkgo, ginseng, vitamin E)
- Let hair grow naturally (no aggressive coloring)
- Complete any prescribed pre-op blood tests
The day before
- Gentle shampoo in the evening, no product applied
- Light dinner, good night's sleep
- Prepare comfortable clothes with a button-down or zipper top (avoid pullovers)
- No alcohol
On D-day
- Light breakfast (coffee allowed in moderation)
- Take your usual medications (except those advised against)
- Arrive on time, with a companion if possible for the return trip
- Bring a cap or hood for leaving the clinic
Mental preparation: just as important
A transplant is a 4-8 hour procedure that can feel long. Bring headphones, a good book or a tablet. Our team accompanies you throughout the procedure and does everything to make it comfortable.
